More Money More Power Fundraiser: SWGBP
Amid shifting energies, hopefulness, and new opportunities for growth in the new year, we are excited to announce a project that Resource Generation Atlanta is taking on for the start of 2021 to support SONG Power and We the Plug Tho (a proud partner of the Partnership for Southern Equity’s Just Energy issue area), we’ve committed to an ambitious and bold fundraising campaign to raise $60,000 in support of energy equity and power building in rural Georgia.
Everyone knows about the tons of attention and money poured in from both inside and outside Georgia for the 2020 election season, and how the rural counties that were heavily campaigned played a critical role in the election results. This campaign is a way to move beyond extractive electoral campaigning and invest in rural communities for the long-term. Solidarity and the fight for justice don’t stop with electoral politics!
We are setting a goal to raise $60,000 by mid-March to fund energy equity in rural Georgia. The money is going directly to paying the utility bills of folks with self-identified needs.
