Georgia CTSA – 5th Biennial Forum

April 2, 2021 @ 12:45 pm - 1:15 pm EDT

One Georgia: Advancing Health Equity Amidst a New Normal.

The Georgia CTSA is an inter-institutional magnet that concentrates basic, translational, and clinical investigators, community clinicians, and industry collaborators in dynamic clinical and translational research projects. The Alliance’s Community Engagement (CE) Program is designed to encourage and support community-university research partnerships by connecting existing academic-community research programs, transforming research from a scientist-subject interaction to a more equitable partnership, and training investigators in principles of community-engaged and community-based participatory research. We work diligently to improve the capacity of community leaders and residents to fully participate in research roles that include investigators, Institutional Review Boards, and more.

The theme of this year’s forum is One Georgia: Advancing Health Equity Amidst a New Normal” and is designed to emphasize the art and science involved in the policy, practice, and research approaches that advance healthier communities. Similar to our Forum in 2019, we highlight “One Georgia” in our theme to demonstrate the essential inclusion of the health of rural and urban communities alike in all our programming. The goal of the forum is to facilitate multidisciplinary collaborations and partnerships among organizations and individuals in the community, health systems, and public health, and academia.
