Whether it’s 1619, 1776, or 1831, the foundation of the United States was built on the injustices of stolen land and slavery; inequities that continue to shape our national identity. It is time to build a new foundation!

If 2020 has given us anything besides COVID-19, it’s an opportunity to call out systemic racism, reflect on the nation’s true history, and, understand that the hopes of the people involved in advancing equity are attached to an understanding of the South’s role in realizing a more equitable and racially just nation.
