The Partnership for Southern Equity is pleased to announce the Just Green Accelerator. The Accelerator is part of PSE's Just Green Hub, funded by a grant from the Bezos Earth Fund.
The Just Green Hub unites leaders from the community, government agencies, grassroots organizations, and young organizers to accelerate the achievement of equity for Atlanta's urban green infrastructure by promoting its growth and sustainability for the future.
The Just Green Hub's collaborative partners focus on providing resources and assistance to grassroots organizations stewarding and managing parks, watersheds, and historic African American sites in enhancing their leadership abilities and expanding their initiatives—specifically in the headwaters watersheds of Atlanta's Proctor Creek, Intrenchment Creek/South River and Flint River.
About the Just Green Accelerator
The Just Green Accelerator is a collaborative offering of organizations coordinated by PSE to
support grassroots groups aspiring to grow their leadership capacity and activities. The goal is to uplift local parks, watersheds, and historic site stewardship groups critical in the equitable planning, development, and maintenance of spaces that provide healing and healthy ecosystems in historically disinvested communities in Atlanta.
Through a 12-month cohort experience, participants in the Just Green Accelerator will receive operational seed funding, technical assistance, coaching and project implementation support to strengthen their ability to serve as leaders and advocates for equitable green infrastructure efforts.
Eligibility
We encourage local grassroots, community-driven groups, or organizations, that are fostering environmental stewardship and community leadership (including advocating and developing green infrastructure initiatives) to apply for this unique opportunity. Preference will be given to grassroots organizations that are
working closely with residents in communities of color, and that support projects directly tied to
the sustainable use of natural resources (rain gardens, community gardens, urban forestry).
Applications
The deadline to submit online applications is March 22, 2024. Awards will be announced in April 2024. Participant projects must be completed by April 2025.
