We need these words now more than ever. This is not a day off for us. Most of our staff are celebrating the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. throughout the community. Please join us at the following events:

MLK Day 5K Drum Run

When: Jan. 20, line up begins at 8:45 a.m.

Where: Piedmont Park, 400 Park Drive NE, Atlanta

What: This one-of-a-kind 5K commemorates Martin Luther King Day with a 3.1-mile drumline along the course. It costs $35 to register. 

MLK Jr. Day of Service 2020 – West Atlanta Watershed Alliance

When: Jan. 20, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Where: Outdoor Activity Center, 1442 Richland Rd SW, Atlanta, GA 30310

What: Join us in celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.! Help the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance to restore and maintain habitat at the Outdoor Activity Center, a 26-acre urban forest, in southwest Atlanta and the Hardnett Community Garden. Please wear warm clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times. Work gloves, tools, snacks, and warm drinks will be provided. Feel free to pack a light lunch! Don’t forget to bring your refillable water bottle and a reusable hot cup. This event will happen in all types of weather! Rain, sleet, snow or sunshine won’t stop us. Thank you in advance!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commemorative March/Rally

When: Jan. 20, 1:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Where: Baker Street NW & Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta

What: The MLK March Committee and Africa African American Renaissance Festival is bringing this procession to the streets of downtown Atlanta. The commemorative march will start on the intersection of Peachtree Street and Baker Street and end in front of The King Center.
