Partnership for Southern Equity Announces 2022 Fall Interns

The Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE), in partnership with INROADS, is thrilled to announce its 2022 Fall Intern Class.

Through its internship program, INROADS connects diverse and talented college students with paid internship opportunities at top employers, while also providing leadership development and career training. The students are a part of the HBCU Sustainable Communities Initiative which is an alliance between INROADS, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and UNCF to foster communities’ economic vitality by establishing opportunities to expose and promote HBCU talent to sustainability careers.

“The ability to participate in a work experience, particularly in racial equity, is critically important and this program allows these young people a customized on-ramp into the field of sustainability,” said PSE’s founder and Chief Equity Officer, Nathaniel Smith.

“This situation provides the most ideal opportunity for these scholars,” said Christina Cummings, PSE’s Vice President of Operations. “They are able to leverage this prestigious program with INROADS, while simultaneously being immersed in several active projects across PSE. These emerging leaders have the opportunity to gain valuable skills while advancing PSE’s mission; this is a value proposition that is anchored in reciprocity.”

“Our goal is to build a deep pipeline of HBCU talent so we can link Black and Brown employees/entrepreneurs to the clean energy economy,” said Joel Alvarado, PSE’s Vice President for Strategy and Engagement. “The role that HBCU’s play in realizing our transition to an economy that is cleaner and safer for all is critical to our success. We are excited about the ways in which these young leaders will be the designers of the solutions that will leave a better planet for all to enjoy.”
