PSE Releases $150,000 COVID-19 Fund to Support Frontline Organizations

Dear PSE Community,

We would like to announce to our Equity Circles, partners, and civic village that we are releasing applications for the COVID-19 Rapid Response Relief Fund. The application deadline is June 8, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

As a part of the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund from the United Way of Greater Atlanta and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, we are looking to fund direct service projects to the communities we serve: low-wealth Black communities and historically disinvested communities of color.

Selected applicants will be providing direct services to the aforementioned communities to relieve them of the resource inequities exacerbated by COVID-19. For more information on this fund, please see the Fund Guidelines here and Fund FAQ and Timeline here. The application deadline is June 8, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

If you know of any groups who could utilize these funds and fit our criteria, please share this announcement with them. We are also highly encouraging graduates of our PSE leadership academy programs to apply. Here is the link to the fund application. The application deadline is June 8, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Onward Towards Equity,
Nathaniel Q. Smith, Jr.
Founder and Chief Equity Officer

Hi, We are Miller City Farm and recently through relationship with friends in our neighboring city of East Point learned of your organization’s support of farms and organizations doing the work to combat food insecurity and social inequity. We initiated a local program in City of South Fulton, the Georgia Grow Box, to provide a real-time solution for emergency food access and safety in direct response to COVID-19. We have been featured on news outlets, 11alive.com and in the AJC, and to date have provided 400 raised bed gardening kits to residents with the South Fulton county footprint. While I realize the grant application period is ended for your Covid-19 Rapid Response Relief Fund, we would like to share our program scope and objective with you in hopes of gaining your support.

Info about our farm enterprise is available on the website http://www.millercityfarm.com (although it is currently being updated).
We can also forward an abstract of our program as well as a one-pager of our farm to provide you more information.

    Thanks, Marisa Miller (Owner) 678-923-6046
