PSE Welcomes New YES! for Equity Director

“Throughout my career, I have seen the transformational power of youth and their unique ability to shift policies, practices, and communities to create more just and equitable spaces. I am committed to supporting and nurturing the leadership of young people on the path towards racial equity and justice.”

-Katie Warner, YES! for Equity Director

For the past 15 years, Katie Warner has worked in a nonprofit focusing on racial equity, systems change and justice. Her work ranges from senior leadership, program development, training and systems change for racial equity and youth power building.

As the new Director of YES! for Equity with Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE), Katie is succeeding current Just Solutions Director Jessica Daniels. “I trust that YES! for Equity will continue to thrive under Katie’s leadership and we are so excited to see how youth power building will continue to grow at PSE, in Georgia and throughout the Southeast,” Daniels said.

Katie is also a former co-founder of Youth Empowered Solutions (YES!), the former North Carolina-based nonprofit, and has worked as a consultant with PSE for the past two years, helping re-home Youth Empowered Solutions, and launch YES! for Equity.

Katie holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education and health/community health from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a master’s degree in health education and promotion from East Carolina University.

“Thank you to the former youth and adult staff of Youth Empowered Solutions for having a collective vision and building a foundation for growth that led to the launch of YES! for Equity, we get to continue this work because of you,” Warner said. “I also want to say thank you to Nathaniel Smith and the entire PSE family for believing in and embracing this vision. Here’s to the collective path forward.”
