The Just Youth Circle Tour

The Just Youth Circle (JYC) Listening Tour is a strategic outreach effort beginning in the summer of 2023. YES! for Equity will convene in North Carolina (former HQ location of Youth Empowered Solutions, Inc.), Tennessee and Mississippi. Join us for a listening tour to understand the state of youth organizing for racial equity and social change in the American South.
There are three listening sessions across North Carolina for you to choose from:
Charlotte
- June 29 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the University of North Carolina Charlotte
Greensboro
- June 30 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at North Carolina A&T University
Durham, sponsored by the North Carolina Black Alliance
- July 1 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at North Carolina Central University
The 2-hour Listening Session Agenda includes:
- Ice Breaker and Introductions
- Level Setting Conversation Defining Racial Equity Terms and the Work
- Youth-Led Small Group Discussions to Learn From Youth Leaders/Organizers and Their Allies
- Q&A and Next steps
- Invitation to the Southern Unity for Racial Justice and Equity Summit
